Around Australia: Inception

Covid19 was, and continues to be, tough for a lot of reasons. In the early days I found myself virtually exploring and loosly planning things in Australia that I might like to oneday visit and do.

Durring my virtual exploration process I found myself adding nalural icons, cities and bike trails to my bucket list. At the time only really having Google Maps to curate a giant list – forever known as the original “Around Australia” geo pins.

As the list grew it was becoming more and more obivous that a trip Around Australia was indeed on the cards. At the time I envisioned that it would be possible to just “connect it all up” without too much extra work. My rationale was if I was to do the trip in multiple sections that adds some complicated logistics which would be difficult with a bike and would be very expensive.

And then the idea was spawned… A trip, a bike trip around Australia by bike.

But Why? Why do such a crazy trip? What is the purpose?

A personal quest to discover what I am really made of and what makes us who we are. Striving for the best I can be.

Once I had the idea, a loose route, it becomes WAY MORE SERIOUS. I need documentation, the correct tools and equipment, training plans, safety plans to name a few… All to ensure I can actually pull this off.
