The Forrest Loop (2days)

The Forrest Loop ride takes in a combination of road and gravel with some options to test those skills with the Forrest Mountain Biking trails. The journey out includes some light hills, a Pub lunch and the Old Beechy Rail Trail back to Colac.

This ride attempts to avoid main roads, gives the options for Hotels and Camping, support a diverse set of riding skill levels and lets you experience what the Otway National Park has to offer.

The first day is fairly easy. Starting with a VLine trip to Colac for lunch then a 40km segment to the first night camping. You will experience some road riding and easy gravel riding before an optional stop at the Forrest Brewery in the afternoon.

The Lake Elizabeth Campsite is beautiful with plenty of facilities. All the details you need to know can be found here.

Day 2 starts the day with some more adventureous Mountain bike trails with multiple grades for any skill level. If you are really into Mountain Bike riding you might be inclinded to stay another night and do a full day riding around Forrest and all the trails it has to offer.

If you have spent the morning hitting the Mountain bike trails then lunch in Forrest is a good idea because the 45km +400m trip to Beech Forest will take about 3 and a half hours. Refreshments avaliable at The Beechy Hotel.

The route out of from Beech Forest is the Old Beechy Rail Trail (~45km 3.5h).
