The Game of Cards

A social multiplayer game that pretty much anyone can play.

2+ players… If needed just include another deck of cards.

Goal.

The goal of the game is simple… Be the first to get rid of all of your cards (even the ones facing down).

The game can continue to decide who is 2nd, 3rd and so on.

Setup:

Each player is dealt 3 cards facing down and 6 in the hand. 3 cards chosen (based on their associated rule) to be face up on top of the cards facing down.

Tip: Getting to know the associated rules helps understand how the game is played.

The remaining cards form the draw pile in the centre of the table.

How to play?

Left of the dealer starts and played clockwise. Any card (or multiple) can be played to start the deck.

Tip: Play your low cards first (but not a 2).

A player must maintain at least 3 cards in their hand (until the draw pile is empty).

If you can’t go then you must pick up the deck… Yes potentially a massive pile of cards in the middle of the table.

If the card you play blind looses then you must pick up the deck.

Each player must play a card of equal or greater value (except when a 7 is played). Multiples can be played.

Burning the deck.

Burnt cards do not come back into play.

The player who completes a 4 of a kind burns the deck and gets to go again. Note that a joker will break a chain of 4 of a kind.

A 10 can be played out of sequence and will burn the deck. The player who burns the deck with a 10 does not get to go again.

Tip: 10’s are like a get out of jail card. Hold onto them as long as you can.

The end game.

The cards on the table can only be played when no cards in the hand.

You can only play the face down cards once they are exposed, however you must play the face down cards blind.

Associated Card Rules:

Each card has an associated rule – this is the core of the game.
